Wednesday 23rd June 2010

I made a texture!! Based on the floor of the museum that was featured in the ARQ journal. I thought it might look quite good in some part of my office.

I also altered it and made it an alpha channel for another texture that could act as a window. I felt it would probably look a bit out of place if it was used only ever once.

The application of my texture in the middle floor... and you can see it's related to the ARQ journal! I quite like this space; everything seems to fit together quite well - even though the chairs seem very simple, I think it fits in to the whole environment quite well. (And please don't mind my avatar... her clothes weren't loading properly... ==)

This is how my office looks now... I've played with more textures, and even applied my second texture to the roof.

My office from a lower level - you can see the interior quite well, and the bottom floor does indeed look very much like a capsule!

I felt the bottom floor was starting to lose its 'underground' look, with so many semi-transparent surfaces, and starting to deiviate from the original idea. So I decided to make a wall more solid...

Comparison of the view from inside...

With the whole wall fully 'sealed up'

The view when you look above again, since I changed it a little bit. I feel this development looks much better than the one before (with the straight flat window)

Looking down from the middle floor again (since i've changed the texture etc.)

My office! The bottom floor still reminds me of a capsule

A few more alterations done on the office, such as the texture and colour applied to the furniture in the top storey. You can also notice the use of the second texture as a window beside the entrance to the 'main' middle floor.
